Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Lowell, MA is a diverse community. My students come from lots of different places and different walks of life. Many come from disadvantaged socioeconomic situations and often lack the advantages and materials we would take for granted in many other districts. Still, they are eager to learn. My goal is to address some of the individual needs my students have using the one-to-one technology we now have access to.

My Project

My students have a variety of needs that we do our very best to accommodate. Reading is often a struggle for many of my students. The ability to listen to articles and stories using various chrome extensions can really help some students with IEPs and 504s, as well as some EL students.

30 kids listening to different parts of an article, in multiple languages, in a single classroom can be very overwhelming for students.

Having headphones would allow them to listen and read at their own pace and utilize translation tools while allowing students who don't need these accommodations to not be distracted.
