Headphones to Facilitate Learning

My students need 25 pairs of headphones to use in the media center while they are using the computer workstations.

My Students

Have you ever tried to listen to something but could not hear it clearly no matter how quite you were?

My students are predominately African American with a growing Latino population.

They attend a Title 1 urban school and range in grades from prekindergarten to sixth grade. They like most students their ages love to learn new things and demonstrate their learning through the use of technology.

My Project

The 25 headphones with adjustable volume controls will allow my students to better hear the audio from the various interactive learning websites. The primary grade students will be able to control the volume as they listen and interact to different online educational sites like Starfall's Learn to Read With Phonics. With volume adjustable headphones, students at the intermediate level will be better able to hear video and audio clips from sites like Discovery Education.

Donating the headphones to my students will give them the opportunity to better hear the audio from the interactive educational websites.

No longer will my students have to hear the lesson-related chatter from nearby workstations and strain to hear the audio from the interactive tool they're using.
