My Project

I have the best job in the world teaching English Language Development (ELD) to students in grades TK-6. My students are emerging bilinguals with a wide range of needs. This year, we are lucky enough to have many new students at our school. Many of them come to us with limited or no English.

As an ELD teacher, I strive to create opportunities for students to learn and interact with language in meaningful ways.

Using realia (money, food, etc) is one way to help students feel more confident in their language skills. I also utilize technology programs to give students more opportunities to practice their speaking skills in an environment they feel safe in.

A set of headphones, new realia, and letterboards would be a huge gift to my students!
