Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Most of my students come from families that are very low income earners. Things most of us take for granted, exicte them to no end. The majority of my students are struggling in reading and math. I am committed to helping them achieve success in the classroom. These children are not responsible for the circumstances in which they find themselves. All of them are special to me because they keep trying in spite of the issues they face daily. They work hard every day at learning.

My Project

Over the years, I have purchased fire tablets to use in my classroom. The school only supplies three student computers in the classroom. With the 7 tablets and student computers, I can get at least ten students on at a time. However, headphones are always an issue. Either the school headphones are too cheap and break easily, or there just isn't enough of them. My students can progress faster by utilizing reading programs and other educational resources I have downloaded on tablets. Every day I try to give them access to these programs in order to help them advance especially in their reading levels.
