Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I have seventy-six diverse third grade learners. My students show a great amount of enthusiasm for learning. They are particularly interested in EVERYTHING and technology right now! Their excitement for learning is exhibited daily, as is their support for their peers.

Seeing my students continue to grow in their learning is amazing!

We are in a mostly low-income/high-poverty school district, with many of my students facing several challenges both in and out of the classroom. We strive to make school an enjoyable experience where all students feel safe and engaged. As their teacher, I aim to foster their curiosity and love of learning. We appreciate donations as well as any positive thoughts you send our way!

My Project

We need a class set of headphones! We use our laptops once a day for stations, interventions, progress monitoring, testing, and practice and headphones are a necessity! Not only do we not have enough headphones for our entire class, but about half the headphones we do have do not work. It is an immense inconvenience and often times a huge distraction for my students when they are not on their laptops but others are. My students benefit from having different activities read aloud to them through their laptops​, so it is imperative to everyone's learning (and sanity) that we get a class set of up-to-date and working headphones.
