My students need a lot of love, attention, and support from teachers. Our school is located in a low income area, and most of our students do not have the means to obtain the proper school supplies they need to be successful for the school year. Building a warm, safe, and inviting classroom community is so important for mt students.
My students are curious, enthusiastic, and creative, they are ready to immerse themselves in any type of challenge.
They are fearless when it comes to technology, and as children of the 21st century, they need to be prepared to use a variety of tolls to engage their world.
I hope to receive support from DonorsChoose.org in order to help my students get the necessary supplies, create a sense of community, safety, and comfort in my classroom, as well as help my students create lasting memories to help them connect positively to school. I appreciate your support in helping my students to obtain what they need to learn and grow!
This year my class is lucky enough to have 1:1 iPad devices in the classroom. Every student will have their own individual iPad in the classroom to support our learning to be college and career ready. We will also be completing differentiated assignments and projects on our iPads as part of our new Project Based Learning (PBL) in the classroom.
Unfortunately we do not have the funding for headphones for the iPads, making it difficult for the students to be on their 1:1 devices during whole group and small group time.
The noise will be very distracting for the class. With these headphones, we will be able to enhance our 21st century skills and complete some amazing projects this school year!
