My students would love to have headset microphones to use when creating documentary presentations. Last year they all tried to share the one set I personally own. Needless to say it is now being held together with tape! It was very frustrating for my students to have to wait for their turn to use the headset and unfortunately time did not allow all students to get to use it. HOWEVER, the students who did use it loved using it and were thrilled at the results of adding their own voice narrations to presentations and documentaries. It really gave them a sense of pride and ownership in their work. I even saw reluctant learners blossom at the prospect of narrating their work. Students, who normally groan at the thought of having to present something in front of the class, stood by beaming while peers watched and listened to video documentaries they had created! Also, a presentation is so much more compelling for their peers when it is self presenting and narrated by them! A class set of headphones and microphones would give ALL my students the opportunity to gain this experience. Please consider funding our request. Thank you!
