Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach 22 third graders in a small township in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Our school is fortunate enough to have enough Chromebooks for my students to each have access to one each day. However, our wireless mice and headphones are on their last leg since they have been used for many years and gotten great use. It is time to update our headphones and mice for our computers. These two supplies will keep our classroom running smoothing during our assignments we complete on the computer. When mice and headphones aren't working it creates several interruptions to the learning and I end up becoming a tech helper instead of being able to effectively run my classroom. I am also in need of more teacher and student math manipulatives to teach our measurement unit. When students can have a visual that they can see and touch they are better able to understand the content we are learning. Lastly, my students love reading graphic novels and have requested more for our classroom library. The more books I have in my library that they love, the more they will read, and the better readers they will become!

These supplies will help my students engage in learning without interruptions and gain a deeper understanding of the learning.
