it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
In my classroom, students learn that science, technology, engineering and mathematics can be creative, exciting, and fun. Students learn STEM by addressing "real-world" problems in our community, city, and beyond.
Above all, I try to create an environment that is supportive of the diverse needs in my classroom.
The student body at my school is diverse in many regards. I believe our differences strengthen us, and strive to cultivate a positive classroom community.
Project-based learning, personalized learning, and authentic learning experiences make sure that every student has an opportunity to learn however they learn best.
My Project
The most inspiring moments in my classroom happen when students are not all working on the same thing. A classroom that is responsive to student needs creates opportunities for students to learn at their own pace, meaning one student might be accessing a different resource than the student next to them. I use an online platform to assign materials and resources for my students that reflect their current needs. In this environment, my students need headphones to access digital resources, such as DiscoveryEducation, Brainpop, and Khan Academy, to support our daily learning activities. The 20 headphones requested in the project will enable me to provide a learning experience that meets students where they are.
