I love my students' work ethic and willingness to learn. Being in a low income school does not stop them from achieving their goals. Our high school typically scores above state and national averages on the ACT. The poverty level at our school is at 65%.
My students love new experiences and opportunities to grow as individuals and as a community.
They excel in their extracurricular activities without losing focus on their academic achievements. Many of my students work part time jobs as well in order to help their families make ends meet. My hope is that I have provided them with every opportunity I can to succeed in life after high school.
There are times when my students are ready to move on to more difficult material, but are held back by the pace of the course. With these headphones I will give my students the ability to work at their own pace by listening to virtual lessons I am creating for them. They will still get my lectures and teachings, but will be able to move through our frameworks at a pace that works for them.
Imagine having the freedom to learn concepts of a subject in a way that works for you.
That is what having these headphones in my classroom will do for my students. I will have more time to work one on one with my struggling students, while my more advanced students will be able to progress quickly through the material.
