Headphones for the Computers in my Lab

My students need headphones for the classrooms 40 computers. The USB adapter cables are for attaching external USB devices utilizing 5 pin mini plugs (most common type).

My Students

Imagine a classroom with 40 computers performing classroom tasks involving Internet media (video, audio) and how difficult it would be for students to pay attention to their task when they can hear the content from the students 3 feet from them on both sides.

My students are extremely diverse.

They come from backgrounds representing more than 30 different races, religions, nationalities, and socio-economic groups. They to tend to have a uniform desire and common grouping type when in my classroom. Their uniform desire is technology skills and the grouping that comes from it is "Geek." The school they attend is a very large comprehensive high school in a urban-suburban location.

My Project

The resources requested (headphones and USB cables) will enable my students to stay focused on their task by eliminating background noise that distracts them from completing tasks. In my computer technology courses almost 100 percent of the course content is Internet based requiring students to listen to audio and watch videos. Internet content makes up 50 percent of content in all of my other courses. The USB cables are needed to enable interfacing of various portable devices (cameras, mp3 devices, tablets) to the lab computers.

How successful would you be at completing self-paced Internet content in a classroom where you constantly hear distractions?

Would being able to clearly hear only the content you needed (instead of yours and 3-4 other students) for completing assignments increase your efficiency?
