This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students live in a very small rural farming town that is surrounded by many farming fields. We come from a small school that only has two classes for each grade level. The majority of my students come from low socioeconomic backgrounds. Parents work hard in local fields, farms, and packing houses. The parents do what they can at home, but for many of our students school is a great way to have a stable schedule and support system.

Many parents do not have high school level education, or even speak English, so our students need a lot of support from our school.

It is important that we give every student the chance to succeed.

My Project

I am asking for donations for more comfortable headphones for my students. Currently they have ear buds which they complain about being uncomfortable.

I feel that if they have more comfortable headphones for their small group instruction and whole group practice test time that they will be more engaged and more attentive.

It is my hope that the students will be able to concentrate more on their task at hand and also not feel as uncomfortable as they are now. Since my students come from economically disadvantaged families I think that this would help them feel more in time with technology as well as being more comfortable.
