Headphones for Student Readers

My Students

My lower elementary Montessori classroom consists of 26 1st-3rd graders for this 19-20 school year. One of the great things about Montessori education is the fact that a teacher gets to work with the same student for a total of three years when they are completing their cycle!

My students' love for learning is so pure and beautiful to watch.

I love being part of their journey. My student's interests vary from the theater, fashion, video games, sports, and even writing spooky stories! My students vary in all different abilities and special talents. They love utilizing technology in our classroom, specifically for an online reading program that everyone accesses daily.

My Project

Our Montessori classroom has access to an online reading program, which includes a listening component. Having a class set of headphones will allow students to listen to books during our Montessori work period. We currently only have one classroom headphone pair that the students must all share. Many of my students do not have a personal pair of headphones to bring in to utilize at school. Those that do are gracious enough to share their personal headphones with others, however, not everyone has the ability to access the listening program of our reading program daily because of our lack of headphones.
