Headphones for Special Education

My students need headphones so when they are working on the computer, they can follow along as the program reads it to them.

My Students

My students look forward to coming to class to see what is going to happen next. They all know one thing for sure, they will get a smiling face and a caring voice that will help them when they need it. They also know this is a safe place for them to come and not have to worry about their struggles.

My classroom consists of special education students who attend a local middle school (6th-8th).

All of these students have various disabilities. Each student is unique in their own way! The middle school I teach at is in a high poverty area with many receiving free or reduced lunch. The enrollment is approximately 500 students.

My Project

My students can use the headphones to listen to a program on the computer or iPad. Many of my students have difficulty reading and if the program reads aloud, they will be able to follow along. The headphones can also be used when they take the state test and the test is read aloud to them.

By receiving the donation of headphones, my students will be able to complete the assignment at the same time, instead of having to work in shifts because we currently do not have enough headphones to go around.

The headphones will assist the students to feel more confident about completing the assignments and test that are required.
