This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students walk into the school eager to learn everyday. They are strong, hard working students who deserve nothing but the best. Yet, they are at a disadvantage. Not because they do not think the way others do, but because of the resources they lack at home.

My students are 100% free and reduced lunch.

Many of them need basic supplies. Their parents don't have the luxury to be able to buy school supplies instead they are working 2 jobs just trying to pay rent and put food on the table. Please help me give my students everything they need to make their school home comfortable, loving, and encouraging!

My Project

My students will use their headphones in the classroom to listen to books on our district reading programs. My students are required to listen and read online books for 500 minutes every six weeks. This is difficult for many of them who do not have headphones and/or internet access at home.

Students without both internet access and headphones cannot fulfill their reading minutes.

It can be very embarrasing for students to ask for headphones from peers if the teacher does not have extras. Many students won't ask for a pair because students will make fun of them. These 15 headphones will provide students with a set without drawing attention to themselves. These headphones are also good quality and will last my classroom for years to come. Thank you for all your support.
