My Students

I have an amazing group of students from many different walks of life. My 265 students range from 6th grade to 8th grade, with various linguistical abilities and some of them are from bilingual families. Most of my students are non-native Spanish speakers, who are just starting to learn Spanish and 60 of my students are native speakers from various Latin American countries.

My non-native speakers are enthusiastic, curious, and actively problem-solving when they are faced with comprehension questions of a story that is completely in the target language.

My native Spanish speakers are enthusiastic, fun, curious, and hungry for authentic resources that showcase their Latin American culture, traditions, and values.

My Project

My students need headphones for our listening and speaking assignments and assessments in our school.

Having up to 35-37 students in a room, my students both from our special education program to our advanced/native speakers need sturdier headphones.

Our native students will use these headphones for their speaking activities and Common formative assessments. My special education students will use them for noise canceling purposes, but also to begin listening to children's songs in the target language. My Spanish language learner students will use them to work on their Señor Wooly assignments, but also to listen to music in the target language as they read from our classroom library!
