Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a teacher in a low-income / high poverty school district, where my scholars are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom.
I teach 2nd-grade bilingual students in a Title I school in Houston, Texas.
My scholars come from low-income families and have many different learning styles. I am trying to create an environment where all my students are protected, engaged and focused during my lessons without distractions from outside influences. My scholars might not have access to technology at home, therefore I am trying to have that safe exposure during school.
My Project
The materials I am requesting are to replace our worn out and overused headphones that have started to give up.
The headphones are a must in my classroom to keep all the students focused on their learning while working independently.
The noise level during station has to be at a minimum not to create any distractions. As more technological learning is incorporated in the classrooms, I need to make sure my students have all the resources readily available to them.
I am also requesting some pencil pouches to keep all their desk materials neatly organized for both classes to share.
