Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I teach at a Title I school, so many of my students come from low income families and face many difficulties at home. These children are very eager to learn, but may not have the same opportunities as other students.

It is my job, as an educator, to level the playing field for my students and give them a variety of opportunities in school.

I want to build their confidence and help them realize their potential. I am excited to see what their futures hold!

My Project

In 2nd grade, we use computers for important math and reading interventions. Students are very engaged when using technology to support learning, and it also allows teachers to spend time with smaller groups of students to focus our instruction. In addition, with the increase of technology in our daily lives, I believe it is important to give students opportunities to become proficient with technology.

We need sturdy headphones to help limit distractions and help students get the most out of their interventions.

This will enhance the environment of our classroom, because students on computers will be able to focus directly on their task, while other students in the classroom won't be able to hear the computers, and will be able to focus on their own task and instruction. I am looking forward to seeing the positive impact this will have in our classroom!
