My Students
I work in a Rural School as a Special Education Resource Teacher for grades 2-3. My students come from a variety of backgrounds and are so eager to learn!
As a new classroom this year, my classroom is quite limited in resources and I would love to be able to fill my room with many of those needed resources that my kids need to succeed!
Many of my students need the ability to listen to audio books in order to comprehend the words that are being spoken. This enables them to listen to stories, or sections of stories multiple times to help with phonological awareness and to increase their word bank.
My students are quiet, respectful and work extremely hard in order to gain the knowledge they need to succeed.
My Project
Headphones are a needed resource in my classroom. Many of my students have sensory issues. They need a quiet space where they can independently sit and listen to audio books or music to give them a calm body, that will allow them to return to whole group learning.
Having headphones will give them the resources they need to be able to work independently on expanding their vocabulary, word bank knowledge, and sight words.
By donating to this project, you will be increasing my students access to technology which will allow them to work on their literacy skills independently, which will give them more self-confidence with their reading skills.
