This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students at my school understand the value and opportunities that an amazing education can provide. All of my students come from low-income homes, but that does not stop them from pursuing their dreams.

Our community and our families have been hit particularly hard by COVID-19.

But even before COVID-19 many of these students already faced daily challenges at home and outside the classroom. With dedicated teachers and staff, we transitioned seamlessly into online learning and continued to provide a safe space for our students and families during this unprecedented time. Our scholars were able to adapt to online learning because of their motivation and their thirst for knowledge.

As we continue in these uncertain times I know that our students will be able to adapt to whatever changes come our way. The resiliency and perseverance of our students is what makes our school community great.

My Project

Teaching during a pandemic is new for all of us, but we will do what we do best and adapt to make sure that all learners are learning whether they are at home or in the school building. Technology will bridge the gap between in-school learning and at-home learning. Basic tools and supplies will be needed in order for students to interact successfully in both environments.

Help provide my students with headphones that include microphones so that all students can contribute to our classroom whether at home or in the classroom.

This tool is invaluable as learning moves remotely and students will be expected to complete more and more of their school work at home. This will allow students some privacy when interacting during video lessons, asynchronous and synchronous learning activities, and collaborative work.

By donating to this project each student will receive their own individual headphones for hybrid learning.
