Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach a diverse mix of sophomores to seniors in the only public high school in Alexandria, VA. My students come from different racial and socio-economic backgrounds. My students are happy to be back in person and to be with friends and teachers.
My Project
Students will use these headphones to access videos that are instrumental to their learning. While participating in the Modern Classrooms Project, students have access to my notes all year through recorded videos by me. This style of learning allows students to learn at their own pace, creating a more equitable learning environment for all students. Students who are chronically absent, or who need more time for processing, excel in the MCP style of learning, as well as those that want to move ahead in a unit. The MCP model has provided equitable access to content, and to continue that access, headphones are needed.
