Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The students in my class are truly one of a kind. Each child has his/her own strengths and weaknesses, as we all do. However, I have noticed that, while my class has its conflicts just like any other, my students naturally find a way to balance each other out and compensate for each other when necessary. Their natural inclination to do so is truly telling of their relationship with one another. In a small school like ours, I feel fortunate to have students that recognize their own mistakes, mistakes in others, and truly have a desire to improve.
We set our goals high and work hard to achieve them.
I am asking for help so that my learners are all able to achieve their goals to the best of their ability. I only hope to be a fly on the wall as they realize their independence and capabilities.
My Project
Without 1:1 headphones in the computer lab, it makes the room a very difficult resource to access. Providing headphones for each student will allow us to work on skills using programs such as Reflex Math, listen to stories on Storyline Online, and practice basic skills for ELLs using websites like Starfall.
Headphones allow students a personalized experience while using the computer and help to minimize distractions.
With headphones for each student, I will feel more confident that my students are engaged while using technology as a learning tool and are less likely to be distracted by their surroundings.
Because the world of technology is rapidly developing, it is my goal to ensure my students are able to practice life skills using the computer.
