My Project
My sixth-grade ELA classroom is a dynamic space where students from all backgrounds come together to learn, grow, and achieve. They are eager, hardworking, and excited to explore new ideas, whether through technology, group collaboration, or independent learning.
This structure helps students take ownership of their learning, allowing them to explore topics at their own pace and skill level.
However, having the right tools is crucial to making this time effective.
I’m requesting 30 headphones to give each student their own pair in each period, which will allow them to:
Focus on personalized learning programs that build essential reading and writing skills.
Engage with audiobooks and literacy apps that support comprehension and vocabulary development.
Work on creative STEAM projects like editing videos or narrating digital stories.
For sixth-grade ELA, technology plays a key role in fostering skills like critical thinking, creativity, and communication. Headphones ensure that students can work efficiently and without distractions, whether they’re listening to a thought-provoking text or producing their own creative work.
Many students don’t have headphones at home, and sharing or going without in class leads to disruptions and lost learning time. By providing every student with their own pair in each period, we’re creating an environment where they can truly focus, whether they’re a multilingual learner mastering English or a mainstream student honing their writing skills.
