My Project
The need for headphones is great, especially in my reading class. We have several assignments which require students to watch videos before answering questions. I also have several students who perform better by having passages and books read aloud to them while they follow along. While I know these are excellent tools for helping my students succeed, the problem is a lack of headphones means in order for my students to be able to use these tools or complete these assignments, they have to spread out around the room and in the hall, so they can listen quietly and work.
I have previously purchased my own class set of headphones; however, the problem is I could only afford the lowest quality, and they quickly stopped working.
While I understand that headphones are part of the school supply list, I am a teacher in a Title I school, and most students are unable to get all of the needed supplies. If you are able to contribute to this project, you will be affording my students with the ability to learn more comfortably.
With a set of headphones, you will be giving my students the chance to not have to go sit in the hallway while we try to make the situation work. Most importantly, students will be able to work closer to me, so if they have a question, they don’t have to come into the classroom, or get off the floor, to ask. Students will be able to work from their tables with the focus they need to be successful.
