My Students
I teach a variety of young learners with special needs. For some of these children, school has been frustrating when being taught with traditional methods. When given the opportunity to use other more interactive and engaging methods, they show an excitement for learning.
My students feel good about themselves when they participate with the same level of understanding as their peers.
These children have a desire to learn and understand and can excel when not being confined to a sit-and-listen method.
My Project
The students of my grade level need headphones in order to be successful in their distance learning experience.
Technology resources are expensive which can limit access to school curriculum.
This is evident especially in this time of virtual/distance learning. As school districts prepare to go remote for part or all of the school year sometimes the simplest things get forgotten.
My district made an effort to provide students with technology but didn't consider the fact that many students may need headphones to remain engaged especially in households with multiple learners.
