Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students persevere, do their best, and take pride in their education. Most come from low income, first generation proud immigrant families. They are dedicated to their education because they know and appreciate the daily sacrifices their parents make for them. To them, school is exciting, something to celebrate, and they are grateful to come every day.

At our Title I school, most of my students receive and deserve some financial assistance to help their families make ends meet.

Half of my students have free or reduced priced meals and eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the school five days a week. They each deserve to have hands-on materials to help them practice important reading skills.

My Project

Imagine 22 first graders trying to listen to instructions, descriptions and audio information from their Chromebook during an online assessment all at once WITHOUT headphones. Yikes!

Headphones are essential for my students who use technology daily to practice reading and math.

They are important because headphones provide a distraction free quiet work environment to practice, focus and build their skills.

We use technology devices almost daily and a new set of headphones would provide my student with a quiet place to work, think and practice what they have learned. My current set of headphones are over 3 years old, mostly broken and need to be replace.
