This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

We have center time three times a week in our classroom. We have a center dedicated to the 10 tablets we have in our room, and the 2 laptops.

My students live in a community with a 100% poverty rate.

They are not exposed to much of the quality technology that is out there. Our school is limited on supplies, leaving teachers to pay for most of the supplies that we would need. We teachers pay for paper, pencils, copy paper, etc.

My Project

My students will use these headphones during times that would require using the tablets or laptops. We need these because, of course, these pieces of technology make noise and can become very distracting. They use their tablets and laptops for all subject areas, including literacy and math centers.

This will improve my classroom environment and our small group learning communities.

It will also help the other students in the room that are not using technology at the time to be able to concentrate on the task that they are working on.
