This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach a wonderful group of bilingual first-grade students who are learning and growing in both English and Spanish. Many of my students are English language learners who benefit from extra support as they build vocabulary, practice reading, and develop confidence in both languages. They are eager, curious, and full of potential!
We use technology every day to support language development, literacy, and listening skills through programs like i-Ready, Seesaw, and reading apps.
However, many of our current headphones are broken or not equipped with microphones. This makes it difficult for students to focus, participate in interactive lessons, or record their voices for speaking practice.
I’m requesting a set of durable headphones—some with built-in microphones—so my students can fully engage with digital learning tools. The headphones will reduce classroom noise, help students focus, and give them the ability to record themselves reading or speaking in both English and Spanish.
With your support, my bilingual students will be able to listen, speak, and learn more effectively every day. Having quality headphones with microphones will not only improve their language skills but also build their confidence and independence as learners.
