My Students

My students are curious about our world and their place within our global community. They love to explore new topics, debate ideas from different points of view, and they especially love working together to achieve a common goal and an understanding of one another’s beliefs. They also have drive and determination to succeed; many have overcome challenges in their personal and academic lives and I continue to be in awe of their resilience and positivity. They are creative, funny and a joy to be around each and every day!

My Project

As a school we are working hard to provide differentiated learning experiences in every classroom. In differentiated learning environments, some students may be working on self-paced lessons while others are doing group work or independent studies. This means that my classroom pods, or groups of leveled learners, are all studying the same subject with content tailored to their abilities. Headphones are essential to differentiated, leveled instruction as each group of students will be receiving different content. For example, some students may need to play audio for vocabulary words while others may not. I also film videos for special needs students.
