My Project

Our school is a low-income, K-8 school. I believe that all students are able to learn. Within our 1st grade, students have a wide variety of abilities. Within this school year, there are 25 students in my first-grade class. Our school is a great learning environment where students prosper. Our academic community is continuously growing and focuses on achieving higher expectations.

In today's society, hands-on experiences and opportunities have become such a driving force in academics all while remaining socially distanced and maintaining social-emotional learning/well-being.

In my experience, when students have felt that they are in an environment that is safe and encouraging they have a tendency to strive for academic greatness.

My Project

The use of our devices is daily activity in my classroom, especially in math and reading. Using the technology in these subjects, students work independently on differentiated levels at their own seat. The headphones will allow a less distracting environment for all students. What becomes a problem is the fact that not all students come prepared with headphones at the beginning of the year. Not all students and families have the means to purchase. When something goes awry and volumes are high, students become distracted by others. Even though they are great about focusing, it is distracting for many of my students who have focusing issues and they miss important activities. By having these headphones, students will be able to avoid all of these problems and focus on increasing their learning!

By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.

Students will be able to simply focus on the academic material at hand, and not the activities of those around them.
