Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are great students! They are all very polite and helpful and most of the time eager to be in the classroom. Some of them were affected by Hurricane Harvey last year. Some were displaced, and some have extended family members living with them because those members were affected. Hurricane Harvey devastated the area around us. Houses were flooded, livestock was lost, and many people were rescued by boat.
I am looking to further their desire to want to come to school by giving them different options of how they receive their lesson for the day.
Having chromebooks and headphones would make our class even better!
My Project
There are many types of learners in a classroom. I am trying to touch each type with each of my lessons on a day to day basis. Many of my students were affected by Hurricane Harvey. The community really pulled together last year, and I know they can again to help out our school. These students deserve good quality materials at school. Some don't have internet access at home due to damages from the hurricane and some for socioeconomic status. At this time, the headphones that we have for our Chromebooks are not reliable. They work when they want and are falling apart daily. I have tried going going out and buying cheap headphones (dollar tree) but they fall apart within a few uses. I am looking for something that my class will have all year and the years to come. The headphones will help benefit my auditory learners and their need to hear their work being read to them.
