This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Nothing says school like fresh classroom supplies. Imagine walking into a classroom that is already prepared for you. No supply lists to go home. This school year will bring a new set of challenges, the biggest challenge is how my students are going to afford their school supplies.

This year I am back in 4th grade.

I'm not sure what my students will be like, but working in a low income, high poverty area I can be certain that classroom materials will not be on the top of their list on the first day of school. I also know that every year I have been given a group of students that are excited to come to school, and this year will not be any different. They are always a great group of students who just need a chance to start off with a bang! I've asked for normal supplies such as, pens, highlighters, and folders to help get the first few months of school started for each of my students. I've also asked for copy paper to use when my students print out their published works and special projects throughout the year.

My Project

Using the supplies requested students will have the materials needed to grow as writers and readers. They will be able to leave notes for their classmates encouraging positive feedback and discussion. The stars are the limit here, and these supplies will help take my students there.

It will show them that they matter and erase all initial fears. Your donation ensures that the only thing they have to worry about on the first day of school and every day this coming school year is being the brightest version of themselves that they can be.
