My Students
My students are from inner city Baltimore and many of them have very little experience of the world outside of their neighborhood. I want to take them to see this movie so they can experience the struggle for education that other children in the world have, especially women.
My students are in the 7th and 8th grade, from Baltimore City and the majority are African American.
They are passion ate and inquisitive. My school is a community elementary/middle school with many families sending multiple children to the school.
My Project
My students will use the field trip to help them draw comparison from the struggles of student around the world to their own educational opportunities. The will use the movie to discover more about the hardship that students face to get an education especially young girls.
This field trip will help my students expand their horizons outside of their own communities.
It will also help them appreciate how fortunate they are to have the access to education that they do.
