Help me give my students dry erase markers to work in their thinking classroom on vertical surfaces, popsicle sticks, foam, and paint to do Hawaiian art, and jumbo people sticks to decorate for the Hawaiian ahupua'a project!

My Project

Students have been studying the land divisions on which ancient Hawaiians lived and which still exist today here on the Big Island. The dry erase markers will allow them to sketch their projects on vertical white boards in class.

The bright acrylic paint will make their projects fun and vibrant.

Students will use the craft sticks, foam sheets, and acrylic to create patterns on paper to mimic the decorations that ancient Hawaiians made on their clothing to resemble features of animals that are special to their families. The wooden sticks shaped as people will be used in a model of the land divisions with people, and the plants and animals that existed in ancient Hawaii. Paint will be used to give their projects eye-catching pops of color.
