Hawaiian Roots, Painting Canoe Plants

Help me give my students the resources they need to be take pride in painting Hawaiian canoe plants, and a symbol of aloha.

My Project

Our goal for Painting Roots: Hawaii Canoe Plants is to provide students with a hands-on, culturally rich art experience that connects them to the history and sustainability of Hawaiian canoe plants. Through this project, students will explore traditional Hawaiian plants brought by Polynesian voyagers, learn about their cultural significance, and transform what students see from these plants into vibrant works of art.

By funding this project, donors will help supply essential materials for student resources to be able to express their aloha using educational resources that empower students to blend science, history, and creative expression.

This experience will not only deepen their understanding of Hawaii’s agricultural heritage but also instill a sense of pride and stewardship for their environment.
