In my class this year, my students are very active, engaged in learning, and overall a great group of students. My school is a Title I school, which means that the majority of the students are on free or reduced-price lunch. The school that I teach at is located in a rural part of Aiken County, South Carolina. Many of the students do not have the best home life, so our school is their security, and we are their uplifting voice every day. I spend the majority of my day encouraging my students to be the best they can be and motivating them in their education.
My Project
Currently, my students do not have a lot of STEM materials to help promote creative learning in our classroom. STEM learning and creativity are a big part of Science and Math and my students would enjoy having more items to promote this type of learning.
Since my classroom is lacking STEM materials, it would benefit my students tremendously.
If I were to receive these items, my students would use these during various Science lessons that go along with various standards. These materials will also help my students get excited about learning science and math-related concepts. It will also help with critical thinking skills when it comes to STEM design and creativity.
