My Students

The majority, almost all, of my students are from homes living in poverty. Over half of our students qualify for free and reduced-price lunches. Our school is classified as a low-income school. Our neighborhood has a very low socioeconomic status. Despite this, my students come to school with a smile every day. They are counting on me for a better future. It's up to me to give them a positive outlook on learning. My goal is to create an environment that makes my students feel empowered, independent, and welcomed.

My Project

For my project,  my second grade students will learn about telling time through everyday hands on activities. Students will be engaged through multiple hands on activities and will have fun learning. The purpose of this lesson is for students to learn about time and how it relates to everyday activities. Learning about time, will help my students manage their every day schedules and help them with their responsibilities throughout each day and their life overall. Telling time is an important component of life. It will help my students become more time efficient. They will be able to manuever their daily schedules more easily to show they can be reliable and dependable.
