This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My preschool students enjoy having books read to them! We have a classroom library students can visit when it's self-select time (or center time). I've noticed that when students visit the library, they don't spend much time there. In preschool, most students don't know how to read; they skim books and use pictures to make inferences about the story.
Children can use their imaginations to visualize the story and create their interpretations.
I believe students will spend more time by adding a table in which students can draw what the book they looked at was about. Blank sheets of paper and colored pencils will provided. Students will be encouraged to write the title of the book on their page; this will help me keep track of the books students are reading and be able to look back at their drawing reports.
