Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Working for a cash strapped school makes teaching and student learning difficult. Access to technology resources is hard to come by at our school. Our school recently opened a magnet school program whereby technology is our emphasis. I am one of the teachers at this magnet school whereby one of my classes is designated to teaching technology to my students. However, we are sometimes limited in our resources. One of the problems we face is a lack of consistent access to laptop computers. Also, our school does not have a designated computer lab. As a result, we do not always have access to the same laptop computers. This prevents us from being able to save much of our work since we sometimes cannot use the same laptops each day. A solution to this problem would be to have flash drives available where students can save directly to a flash drive instead of different computers. This will save us lots of time and make us more efficient in being able to complete projects. With flash drives, we will no longer be limited in not being able to save files or being forced to save on the same computer each day. My technology class has 30 students. If we had at least 20 flash drives our class would run so much smoother. Flash drives would allow them to complete projects faster because it would allow them to also work on the same assignment at home. This will allow us to even complete more projects and allow students to become even more proficient as using various computer programs.
