Having a Sublimation Good Time

Help me give my students Sublimation Blank Makeup Cosmetic Bags, sublimation paper, and heat gun so they can create their own artwork for a pencil pouch and water bottle.

My Students

I teach second-graders in one of the best rural schools in Oklahoma! My students are amazing, inquisitive, and eager to learn. Although some may have difficult lives, my students come to school with smiles on their faces. They are supportive and cheer each other to success. Half of them go to Title I Reading, thirty minutes every day, for extra help.

My students are special because they have curiosity, creativity, compassion, and positive attitudes.

They are leaders who show love, compassion, kindness, and bravery. They are truly amazing people. My school is wonderfully supportive of the active, hands-on learning that we do in our classroom. I couldn't ask for a better environment for these students. We are truly a community!

My Project

Did you know when my students draw they are using critical thinking skills and incorporating real-life problem-solving skills? They will be focusing on making judgments about the ideas they generate, which sometimes involves testing, refining and even rejecting their ideas. That's why I want my students to create an image for these make-up bags. These bags are big enough for my students' pencils. After my students create their image they will print it using the sublimation paper in our sublimation printer. I will then heat press their image on their make-up bag. There's something magical about seeing your artwork in the world.

The heat gun will be used when my students create another image for their water bottle.

Again my students will print their artwork using the sublimation paper on our sublimation printer. They will use heat tape to place the image around a sublimation water bottle. We need the heat gun to form shrink wrap around the water bottle. I will have to do that part. Visual art is an important part of learning and it is fun. I want my students to learn the arts and enjoy coming to school.
