Help me give my students more flexible seating so they are able to move around and work in the classroom as they need. As well as storage for their flexible seats.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
A lot of research has been done recently on the importance of student movement and brain breaks. The pandemic has made traditional school seating very ineffective for the kids. Flexible seating has been shown to increase learning, understanding, and social-emotional growth. As a science teacher, I am always looking for ways to get my students the ability to make groups with ease and flexibility. I need them to get up and get moving throughout the day. This project is designed to have flexible options for students seating.
Flexible seating offers students the opportunity to move while they learn.
The stools offer flexibility for students to get up and grab a seat to make groups quickly. The cushions offer a soft alternative to hard plastic chairs. It gives students the choice to sit where they are comfortable.
