My Project
During the school year, my classroom converts to a conference room for monthly RTI, IEP, and student eligibility meetings. We typically have 1 to 5 meetings a day that last anywhere from 45 minutes to 3 hours long. Our conferences involve the student's parents, administrators, and his/her teacher. Everyone that attends the meeting is a contributing member to the student's education. Currently, our table has uncomfortable, old, torn, and worn-out rolling chairs that we have to sit in.
New and comfortable chairs will promote a higher level of professionalism and confidence for everyone.
At the end of the meetings, I want everyone to leave happy and confident with the decisions that were made about the student. The chairs that I am requesting in this project will provide ergonomic support, reduce physical strain, and allow everyone to be comfortable during the meetings. This will help ensure that everyone that is involved in the meetings can engage more strongly in the discussions, making each meeting more productive and focused on the student's needs.
