My students need 30 inflatable globes so that each student can use their own globe in class this year, and see the world in all of it's 3-D glory!
FULLY FUNDED! Mr. Larkin's classroom raised $487
This project is fully funded
My 6th grade SP students deserve to "have a ball" in the classroom! 6th grade Social Studies is an exciting time, because it's a chance to look at the whole world.
In a high-poverty school, supplies can be hard to come by. There is no way our school can supply a full class set of globes. But the key to success is rolling up your sleeves with hands-on activities, and so many students will learn more by working with a 3-D version of the world than by looking at the atlas in the back of the textbook. Latitude and longitude, climate and continents, the 7 seas and the Great Circle, oceans, islands and time zones will come alive in 3-D!
Put the whole world in their hands! A full class set of inflatable globes will turn geography lessons into a fun, interactive, hands-on activity, and allow my boys and girls to each have their own globe without needing extensive storage space in our ever-so-crowded school. 30 inflatable globes can be easily stored, and when the globes are pumped, the children will be pumped - they'll have so much fun, they won't even realize they're learning!
I would love to give them the world. Wouldn't you? With your help, it will happen! My SP students will see the whole world without ever leaving the classroom, if you make it possible.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
