Come into my classroom and have a seat! My 5th Grade students will be on the ball in reading and writing if I can provide exercise ball seating. That's what I said- exercise ball seating.
All teachers frantically search for strategies to promote learning in their classrooms. I am no different. Every year I search for new and creative ideas to enhance the education I am providing for my 5th grade students. First & foremost, a child's attention and concentration is a must to be successful in any subject.
I need 6 exercise balls to experiment with this new innovative idea, that students sitting on these balls during class are more alert and actively learning. Children are naturally very fidgety and are not comfortable in the all-too-familiar classroom chairs. It would bring a whole new excitement and motivation that these upcoming middle schoolers desperately need. I believe that this simple concept could bring about amazing results in children's projects, assignments, and yes- test scores too.
