Help me give my students Wobble Chairs. 5 & 6 year olds need to move, these will allow them to move around while learning during reading groups. The Learning Stations will keep them excited to learn till 6/16!
Five and six year olds who try their best every day to adjust to a full day of learning. It is a diverse group of individuals who all learn in different ways and although it can be challenging to figure out the best way for all to learn, it's fun when you find something that clicks with each one and see the light in their eyes when they have figured out something we have been learning about.
The beginning and end of the year especially call for them to wiggle and move, the Wobble Chairs will help them do that while still staying at their stations and engaging in the learning.
Their love for learning and ideas keeps me on my toes, searching for more and new ideas all of the time. I look forward to being able to provide some new, exciting, and needed materials for our classroom to keep their love for learning going!
My Project
Creating new learning stations every week, that can be differentiated and tailored to meet the needs of varying abilities for both reading and math, can be very time consuming and costly.
Having these learning stations ready to go for the larger part of the class, will allow me to focus more of my time preparing individualized lessons for those who need more intense, one-on-one instruction.
I spend many hours after school every day customizing learning stations with materials I have on hand, however I would really appreciate giving that time back to my own young kids at home. Plus, this time of year, the students tend to get bored and antsy easy, so having these will be an exciting new activity they can do, while I know it's all benefiting our current learning standards.
