Creating new learning stations every week, that can be differentiated and tailored to meet the needs of varying abilities for both reading and math, can be very time consuming and costly. Having these learning stations ready to go for the larger part of the class, will allow me to focus more of my time preparing individualized lessons for those who need more intense, one-on-one instruction. I spend many hours after school every day customizing learning stations with materials I have on hand, however I would really appreciate giving that time back to my own young kids at home. Plus, this time of year, the students tend to get bored and antsy easy, so having these will be an exciting new activity they can do, while I know it's all benefiting our current learning standards.
