This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am thrilled to be teaching math and science to my incredible sixth graders this year! These are my favorite subjects, and I just love this age group. My students are enthusiastic about learning new things and are full of energy!

Our school has a spectacular staff and incredible community support.

Even though we are located in a low socioeconomic area, it is clear that parents want the best for their children by their active involvement.

My students face many daily challenges, as many come from foster homes or might be experiencing homelessness; however, they always come to school with dazzling smiles, ready to have fun learning.

This is going to be an amazing school year because so much has changed. It was difficult to transition to distance learning as neither staff nor families were prepared. Now, we are ready and our students are eager to start learning online. It will look so much different, but I am confident that we will all do our very best.

My Project

Through the help of DonorsChoose and wonderful match sponsors, we have been able to give our classroom quite an upgrade. My students always love the furniture and seating options. However, we need a few more places to sit!

With Common Core, we need to do a lot of collaboration, communication, and critical thinking/problem-solving.

I love to have my sixth graders sit in groups of four to form teams. My kiddos love to do STEM activities and experiments during science, so we need more chairs to pull up to the tables.

With these amazing banquet chairs, all my students will be able to have a comfortable seat. Students will be able to reach each other and discuss topics. Group work will be engaging and productive! Best of all, we will be able to conduct science labs and record accurate results!
