This STEAM project, "Hats Off to Ocean Explorers and Scientists," will provide 24 craft-type straw hats, one for each learning team of students. Students in the Marine Science classes will select an explorer or a marine scientist they are interested in researching. Students will learn about the explorer and present their findings to the class in a short presentation, using other visual aids like a slide show or a poster,
Students will use the straw hat and decorate it representative of their chosen explorer or scientist.
Then, during the presentation, they will wear the hat, if they can, to share what they have learned. My students will love this hands-on art-type component to make their learning fun and creative.
