Hatching fun in 1st Grade

My students need a incubator so that we can hatch out baby chicks. I've hatched eggs in my classroom for 6 years and the kids love it & it makes a fun science unit.

My Students

They are growing and learning in the same small, tight knit, school community that inspired me to be a teacher. They are dreamers, thinkers, talkers, and questioners. They are mini inspirations to themselves and others around them, even if they don't know it yet. They are budding ambassadors, world travelers, scientists, entrepreneurs, teachers... They are our future and I want to give them a great start in life! Our kids deserve the best and I want to do my best to provide them with every opportunity available.

My Project

The incubator will provide my students with the opportunity to hatch it baby chicks while learning about the life cycle for a chicken and basic life science. The incubator provides a hands experience that no textbook can provide. I’ve hatched eggs in my classroom for 6 years and every year it is a favorite of every student and something they remember for years to come.

This incubator will provide many hands-on activities that teach life science and mathematic skills.

This will provide learning activities in a new, fun, and intriguing way that most of the kids have not had the opportunity to experience.
