My students need to learn about life cycles through hands-on experience. They need an incubator, chick feeder, chick fountain and chick life cycle exploration set to do that.
Kindergartners... they are full of energy, love learning, and are excited for anything and everything! We are excited to be adding animals to the kindergarten classroom. We have a pet stickbug, named Steve. We have a turtle, named Peanut. Our newest plan is to hatch chicks in the spring!
Kindergarten is a magical year which helps children form expectations for lifelong learning.
My students are full of inquiry, questions, and love new opportunities to learn. This is the most amazing group of students and I hope to always provide meaningful and exciting learning opportunities for them!
My Project
I'm passionate about providing amazing experiences for my kindergarten students. I want to provide real life examples of science in action and authentic opportunities to read and write. These experiences help to shape our lives and help us to learn in a deep and rich way. I'm writing a Donor'sChoose grant to fund our desire to hatch chicks in our classroom.
Our largest request will be for an incubator, which will be used for many years to come.
We are also requesting the supplies for taking care of our chicks once they are hatched.
We can't wait to experience the joy, science, and literacy involved with hatching chicks in our kindergarten classroom!
DonorsChoose is the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
As a teacher-founded nonprofit, we're trusted by thousands of teachers and supporters across the country. This classroom request for funding was created by Mrs. Ross and reviewed by the DonorsChoose team.
